Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 May 2026Effective: 22 May 2026

AdsKart is operated by AdsKart Technologies Private Limited (“AdsKart”, “we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use myadskart.com or the AdsKart mobile app, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights available to you under Indian law — in particular the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Overview

AdsKart is a classified ads marketplace that connects buyers and sellers across India. To run the service we need to process information about you. We try to collect the minimum data needed, keep it safe, and give you meaningful control over it. This page describes what we do today; we will update it when our practices change and tell you about any material changes.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal data in three ways: information you give us, information collected automatically while you use the service, and information received from third parties such as Google when you sign in with them.

  • Account information — name, email address, mobile number, profile photo, password hash, and any other field you enter while creating or editing your profile.
  • Listings and content — product titles, descriptions, prices, photos, location (city/area or precise coordinates if you opt in), and any text you post in reviews or messages.
  • Communications — messages exchanged with other users through our chat, support tickets, and feedback you send us by email.
  • Transaction information — records of premium package purchases, featured-listing payments, refund requests, and the payment instrument category (UPI / card / wallet) reported by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers or UPI PINs.
  • Device and technical data — IP address, device type, operating system, browser, app version, language preference, time zone, and crash logs.
  • Usage data — pages visited, searches performed, filters applied, items viewed, favourited or hidden, ads clicked, and interactions with notifications.
  • Location data — approximate location from IP, and precise GPS location only when you grant the corresponding permission to the app or browser.
  • Identity verification data — the one-time passwords (OTPs) sent to your mobile number or email for sign-in, and the verification status of those channels.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process personal data only for the purposes listed below. Where the DPDP Act requires it, we ask for your consent; otherwise we rely on the lawful uses recognised by the Act — performance of the service, compliance with law, and protection of you or our other users.

  • Provide, maintain and improve the AdsKart marketplace, including search, recommendations and the chat system.
  • Authenticate you, secure your account, prevent fraudulent listings and detect abuse.
  • Match buyers and sellers, including showing your public listings and profile to other users.
  • Send transactional communications about your account, ads, messages and payments.
  • Send optional marketing communications when you have opted in, and stop sending them when you opt out.
  • Personalise the items we recommend and the ads we show, including ads served by Google AdSense.
  • Comply with legal obligations under Indian law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Conduct analytics in aggregated and de-identified form to understand how the service is used.

4. Cookies, Local Storage & Tracking

Our web app uses your browser’s localStorage and sessionStorage rather than traditional cookies for authentication tokens, your selected language, your preferred location and recently viewed items. We do not use third-party advertising cookies for retargeting. Google AdSense, however, may set its own cookies on the AdSense iframes it renders in our pages — those cookies are controlled by Google and you can manage them at https://adssettings.google.com.

You can clear all AdsKart data stored on your device at any time using your browser settings or, on the mobile app, by signing out. Clearing this data will sign you out and reset your preferences.

5. Third-Party SDKs & Service Providers

We rely on a small number of carefully selected service providers to operate the platform. The table below lists every third party that may receive personal data from AdsKart, the purpose for which we share it, and the categories of data involved.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

  • With other users — your public profile, your listings and the messages you send through our chat are visible to the counterparty of that interaction.
  • With service providers — as listed in Section 5.
  • For legal reasons — to comply with applicable law, court orders, or lawful requests from government and law-enforcement agencies; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property or safety of AdsKart, our users or the public.
  • In a corporate transaction — if AdsKart is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We use HTTPS / TLS for data in transit, encryption at rest for our managed database and S3 buckets, hashed passwords (bcrypt), role-based access controls, audit logging and regular security reviews. While we follow the reasonable security practices required by the IT Rules, 2011 and apply additional industry-standard controls, no internet service is ever 100% secure. You also play a part — keep your password private, enable mobile-OTP verification, and report any suspicious activity to support@myadskart.com.

In the event of a personal-data breach that is likely to result in significant harm, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users in accordance with Section 8(6) of the DPDP Act.

9. Your Rights & Choices

The DPDP Act gives you the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right to access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data, subject to limited exceptions for legal compliance.
  • Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Section 12).
  • Right to nominate — nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

You can exercise most of these rights directly from Settings inside the app, or by emailing privacy@myadskart.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

10. Children’s Privacy

AdsKart is intended only for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a minor has provided personal data to AdsKart should contact privacy@myadskart.com so that we can remove the account.

11. International Data Transfers

Our primary infrastructure is hosted in AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai). Some of our service providers (for example, Google for Sign in with Google and AdSense) may process data in other countries permitted by the Central Government under Section 16 of the DPDP Act. We rely on contractual safeguards with these providers to ensure your data continues to receive a comparable level of protection.

12. Grievance Officer (DPDP Act 2023)

In accordance with Section 10(2)(d) of the DPDP Act, 2023 and Rule 5(9) of the IT Rules, 2011, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address questions about this Privacy Policy and your data-protection rights.
